This registry edit will allow you to start google chrome by clicking on your start menu, then the "run" button, and typing in "chrome" or "chrome.exe"
Pretty neat if you don't like to clutter your computer with icons.
Open up Registry Editor (Start > Run > regedit.exe)
- Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths
- Go to Edit > New > Key
- (Windows Vista) Double click (Default) on the right and enter C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe "%1"
- (Windows XP) Double click (Default) on the right and enter C:\Documents and Settings\%Username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application
- Restart your computer to apply the new settings, now you can press Windows Key + R and type in chrome.exe to launch Google Chrome!
