With Privoxy you can use your own computer as a proxy to filter web content, including annoying advertisements!

Download, install, and run Privoxy. ( www.privoxy.org )

Click on the "Wrench" icon in the top right corner of your Google Chrome window, and click on the "Options" menu item.

Go to the "Under the Hood" tab, and click on the "Change Proxy Settings" button.

On the dialog that pops up, choose "LAN Settings" and enter the IP 127.0.0.1 with port 8118, and if the option is available, check the "Bypass proxy for local settings" box as well.

Click "OK" to apply the settings, restart Google Chrome and enjoy your adless browsing!

I'd recommend PeerGuardian2, just enable the Ads list, set it to update automatically every couple of days and have it start with Windows.

You could also be nice and build a list of exceptions to allow Google Adwords etc  ;)
