In my previous thread about Google Chrome staying, it seems that most of you agreed that it wasn't a fad. This is because we know Google is a well established company. I'd say it's safe to say that they practically dominate the search engine market, but isn't it a bit excessive for them to dominate the browser market as well? My fear is that they will become TOO powerful and then start doing malicious things.

Not to say Chrome is a bad thing, it's actually good as it motivates the other browsers to keep up as well. But if Google managed to overtake it just like they did with the search engines, it might be a bad thing in my opinion.

first of all, if they are a big company and they are consistently giving out quality product then there is no chance that they will go off road, cuz in making of one product they had to undergo many things. They had great research and a powerful market strategy. And secondly malicious things are created by others to effect the main, and till now they didn't get anything malicious on the ground, why would they do now.

Because they are so much in the public eye, their EULA/TOS is scoured every day by tons of users, I think we will be aware and prevent anything like this from happening
